![]() The skin will never update, but will always react to any mouse actions, where you can use !UpdateMeter and !Redraw to control when the skin is updated and redrawn. This is a good option when a skin is mostly controlled by mouse actions, like an application menu or launcher. If DefaultUpdateDivider=-1 or any negative number, then by default all measures and meters are only updated once when the skin is loaded or refreshed. The Update option is multiplied by the specified value to determine how often measures and meters are updated.Įxample: If Update=1000 and DefaultUpdateDivider=30, then by default all measures and meters are updated every 30 seconds. DefaultUpdateDivider Default: 1ĭefault number of updates at which skin measure and meter values are updated. Do not use the Update value to control clocks or other timing sensitive functions. Note: While Update=1000 will update the skin "once a second", Update is not related to the system clock, and if a computer is busy or a complicated skin takes longer than the interval to complete a full update of the skin, updates can be unreliable in relation to elapsed time. This is a good option when a skin is strictly controlled by mouse actions, like an application menu or launcher. Using Update=-1 will update the skin only once on load (or on refresh). Some care should be taken to only use very low update rates (less than 100) when really needed, and to balance a low Update with DefaultUpdateDivider, or UpdateDivider on individual measures and meters, in order to keep the CPU usage by Rainmeter as low as possible. The lowest possible effective value for Update is "16". On each update, measures and meters are updated, and the skin is redrawn. General Options Update Default: 1000ĭefines the update interval of the skin in milliseconds. Note: The section does not support Dynamic Variables or changes using the !SetOption bang, with the exception of custom Context menu items. A separate utility is included to make it easy to correlate the sensor ID number in the skin with the related sensor functionality in HWInfo. The section of a skin defines options for the entire skin. Plugin is 3rd-party, but seems well supported. Haven't tested it in a few months, so these might be corrected.ģ) HWInfo : Very robust information about CPU and GPU temperatures, fan speeds and loads. However, there are some anecdotal reports that it has issues with Windows 8.1, including on my computer. Perfectly fine if you are mostly interested in CPU and case temperatures.Ģ) SpeedFan : Very robust information about CPU and GPU temperatures, fan speeds and loads. Doesn't monitor fan speeds or GPU information. I personally would be tempted to stay away from it.ġ) CoreTemp : Quite good, built-in Rainmeter plugin, but a little limited. I don't remember specifics, but I think there have been some stability issues with the OpenHardwareMonitor plugin for Rainmeter, and I'm not sure it is still supported by its author. If you don't use OpenHardwareMonitor for other purposes, I really suggest looking at either CoreTemp or SpeedFan, both of which can measure CPU temperature and have Rainmeter plugins that come with Rainmeter, or HWInfo, which while also 3rd-party, is the one that I use and am really happy with. You need to double check the name of the sensor you are referencing from OpenHardwareMonitor. I'm not familiar with it.Īssuming you have that covered, and it looks like you might, then I'm not sure. If not, you will need to find it somewhere. ![]() I assume the plugin came with the skin, as it is not a standard Rainmeter plugin but a 3rd-party one. It should be put in:Ĭ:\Users\ YourName\AppData\Roaming\Rainmeter\PluginsĪnd must be the same 32bit or 64bit architecture as the Rainmeter version you are running. You not only need to have OpenHardwareMonitor running on your system, but you must have OpenHardwareMonitorPlugin.dll, the plugin for Rainmeter that supports OpenHardwareMonitor. Plugin=Plugins\OpenHardwareMonitorPlugin.dll Here is the script that I have for CPU.ini: I get the requested sensor does not exist error. I have open hard ware monitor open and running. Fairly new with rain meter, love it so far, I am using an older skin everything works great except for the cpu temp which only shows 0 C.
